How gas prices have changed in Spartanburg in the last week

Gasoline prices remain at the lowest levels drivers have seen during the summer season since 2021. Prices are lower today by about 4 cents per gallon compared to a month ago.

With Hurricane Debby making landfall Monday as a Category 1 storm, drivers should be aware that prices could face upward pressure in the coming weeks depending on the severity of damage to oil and gas infrastructure.

Barring any disruptions from storms, which GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan described in a statement Monday as posing "low risk to refineries or refined product pipelines," economic indicators point toward even lower gas prices in the near future.

A disappointing jobs report last week has sent investors into a selling frenzy, worried over the cooling U.S. job market. The panic has caused the price of oil to drop, one of the biggest factors influencing the price of gasoline consumers pay at the pump.
