Baizhu is a highly anticipated character in Genshin Impact, known for being the owner of the Bubu Pharmacy and caretaker of Qiqi. With the release of version 3.6, players can finally add him to their teams. Baizhu is primarily focused on healing and shielding, with his abilities based on HP. He also buffs team members' Dendro elemental reaction damage, making him the second Dendro healer after Yaoyao, and the first 5* Dendro healer and shielder. With his ability to scale entirely from HP, Baizhu is a valuable addition to many teams and is easy to build without having to focus on too many different stats.

To optimize Baizhu's healing and shielding, players should prioritize building his HP while also incorporating stats like Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery. This will not only strengthen his role as a healer, but also boost Dendro elemental reactions. Fortunately, Genshin Impact offers a diverse range of suitable weapon and artifact sets to help players effectively incorporate Baizhu into different team compositions.

Yaoyao Builds - Best Weapon
Baizhu is a valuable addition to any Genshin Impact player's team due to his supportive role as a healer and shielder, and building him up for optimal performance is quite straightforward. Baizhu's gameplay style is similar to that of other support characters like Yaoyao and Bennett, which means players don't need to focus on any particular weapon in particular a 5-star weapon to make him effective.
That being said, players who are lucky enough to pull Baizhu may want to consider pairing him with his signature weapon, Jadefall's Splendor. This 5-star weapon is the best weapon to utilize with Baizhu, as it boosts his healing and shielding abilities, as well as generates extra energy and increases his Elemental DMG for players interested in utilizing him as a damage support. However, since Jadefall's Splendor is introduced in the limited-time event weapon banner alongside Baizhu's character banner, many players may not have the resources or the need to wish for this weapon.
Fortunately, there are many other weapon options that players can use to great effect with Baizhu. One such option is Prototype Amber, which is a completely free-to-play forgeable weapon that can almost rival Jadefall's Splendor in terms of healing potential. This 4-star weapon boasts an impressively high HP secondary stat and restores HP to team members after Baizhu's Elemental Burst, while also regenerating energy for Baizhu to upkeep his Elemental Burst. There are many other weapon options available as well, depending on players' team compositions and how they wish to utilize Baizhu.

Baizhu Builds - Best Artifacts
Baizhu has access to various artifact set options that he can utilize effectively, similar to his weapon choices. However, unlike weapons, the importance and priority of artifacts are even more significant and dependent on team composition. For instance, players who want to focus on Baizhu's healing abilities and make him a flexible fit for many team compositions can consider the 4-piece Ocean-Hued Clam set, which brings the most optimal healing results.
On the other hand, if Baizhu will be used in a team that highly values Dendro reactions, he will benefit much more from the 4-piece Deepwood Memories set than Ocean-Hued Clam. This set will allow him to buff the team more significantly, particularly when paired with Alhaitham, who can benefit from the 4-piece Gilded Dreams set while Baizhu benefits from Deepwood Memories. However, for example, if he is paired with Nahida, who already has the 4-piece Deepwood Memories equipped, equipping Baizhu with the same set would be redundant. As such, players must consider their team composition when choosing Baizhu's artifact set. While the Ocean-Hued Clam set is optimal for his healing abilities, the Deepwood Memories set is better for boosting Dendro reactions in specific team compositions and both are great options.
Additionally, Baizhu can make good use of the Tenacity of the Millelith set, which benefits him on both the 2-piece and 4-piece sets by increasing his HP, and shield strength and gives an ATK buff. However, if other team members do not particularly benefit from an ATK buff, this set may not be as useful. It is also possible to mix and match artifact sets, such as using 2-piece HP+ 20% and 2-piece Healing Bonus +15%, or even using 2 different sets that give HP+ 20%, which is now possible with the introduction of the Vourukasha's Glow artifact set in version 3.6. However, it's important to note that giving Baizhu too much HP% may result in diminishing returns, as he already has access to other sources of HP stat.
Baizhu's effectiveness as a support character is closely tied to his HP%, making it a priority for players to focus on this stat for each artifact main stat. However, players can also opt for Healing Effectiveness over HP% for the Circlet if they prefer to prioritize his healing potential over his shield abilities. As Baizhu is not the main DPS character, sub-stats do not need to be as strictly prioritized, but HP%, Energy Recharge, and Elemental Mastery are still useful to have.
Players who plan to use the Favonious Codex on Baizhu should also consider having a decent Crit Rate value since the weapon's passive skill requires Crit for additional battery support. While flat HP stat may also be desirable, once again, it's important to avoid having too much HP without the other stats mentioned, as it can lead to diminishing returns. The order of priority for these stats may vary based on the team composition and the weapon utilized. For example, players may need to prioritize Energy Recharge over HP% to ensure a consistent Elemental Burst uptime.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
