Board Certified Urologist
5/5
Dr. Kaufman recently accommodated me the same day at a much later time than my scheduled hour (due to a delayed subway service) to perform a cystoscopy. His medical technique is excellent. His manner, always congenial and supportive.

"11 Ways That You Can Get a UTI"
“Having sex causes bodily fluids to mingle—yours and your partner's. That means particles from your anus can travel forward, where they can potentially get pushed up your urethra. ‘The act of intercourse literally pushes this bacteria from the vaginal vault into the urethra,’ and is the ‘most significant risk factor’ for UTIs in sexually active women.” David Kaufman, M.D., director of Central Park Urology, a division of Maiden Lane Medical, tells Health.com.

Why More Specific Testing For Recurrent UTI is Necessary
“Dr. David Kaufman of MLM performed one of the first “focal cryosurgery procedures” for treatment of localized prostate cancer in NYC Thursday, February 13th, 2020.
Focal Cryosurgery uses newly developed MRI fusion technology which merges MRI images of the prostate gland which can identify areas of prostate cancer onto an ultrasound platform, allowing urologists to destroy cancer using cryosurgery without damaging the remaining prostate gland. This technique dramatically reduces the complications of incontinence and ED more common in conventional surgical and radiation (Cyberknife) therapies. Even better, Focal cryosurgery is performed under local anesthesia in the doctors office, in around an hour, after which the patient is able to go home.
This treatment offers an alternative to “active surveillance” where patients with low grade, low stage, localized prostate cancer are simply followed, postponing treatment of cancer until progression is documented.”
